| Star Wars Miniatures | The Star Wars Miniatures collection offers a great board game that doesn't require too much time or space to play. The miniatures are also exactly the right size for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, which I would highly recommend. The old roleplaying system was made by West End Games, which I haven't tried.

Amazon.com Review Amazon Best of the Month, December 2008: Updated for the first time in 10 years, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia is the closest fans will come to having access to the great Holocron from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Housed in a sturdy slipcase, the illustrated, three-volume hardcover set holds an A-Z overview of all things Star Wars--from the original trilogy and the prequels to the expanded universe of novels, comics, cartoons, and video games. Most entries on the three-column pages garner a few sentences while core characters and fan favorites like the family Fett spill over to multiple pages of data. As fans know, nearly everyone who appeared onscreen in the films has gone on to receive an entire backstory, but even die-hard fans will delight in the discoveries found on every page. Random, Magic 8 Ball-style browsing brought up head-scratchers like Malarian Alliance, Traest Kre'fey, Rybet, Lieutenant Colf, Guun Han Saresh, bruise-leech crawler, and Ion Alley. And did you know that the bug-eyed alien "dog" in Jabba's palace on Tatooine had a name--"Bubo"--and was in fact a spy and an assassin? According to Yoda, "size matters not," but this 10-pound box set will make a welcome addition to the serious Star Wars fan's bookshelf. --Brad Thomas Parsons
Product Description THE DEFINITIVE REFERENCE GUIDE TO A SPACE FANTASY PHENOMENON
The Star Wars universe, much like our own, is constantly expanding. In the ten years since the publication of the Star Wars Encyclopedia, a lot has happened in that galaxy far, far away: four new feature films, a host of official original novels, comics, video games, and more. Now, thirty years of information on all things Star Wars–ranging from science and technology to history and geography, culture and biography to ecology and cosmology–has been supplemented with an entire decade’s worth of all-new material. Abundantly illustrated with full-color artwork and photos, and now in a new three-volume edition to accommodate its wealth of detailed entries, the Star Wars Encyclopedia encompasses the full measure of George Lucas’s creation.
Here’s just a sampling of what’s inside: • character portraits of both the renowned (Luke Skywalker, Queen Amidala, Darth Vader) and the obscure (Tnun Bdu, Tycho Celchu, Bib Fortuna) • the natives and customs of planets as diverse as Tatooine and Hoth, Dagobah and Kashyyyk • the rituals, secrets, and traditions of Jedi Knights and Sith Lords • a timeline of major events in Star Wars history, from the Clone Wars and the inception of the Empire to the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker and the invasion of the monstrous Yuuzhan Vong
Scrupulously researched and written by leading authorities Stephen J. Sansweet, Pablo Hidalgo, Bob Vitas, and Daniel Wallace, this landmark work is the must-have centerpiece of every Star Wars library.

Star Wars Encyclopedia Set January 9, 2009 This is an awesome set of books. Anything you want to know about Star Wars you can find here. Highly recommend this for any collector.
Great gift January 9, 2009 I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it! He is amazed to learn facts and information on the smallest of details mentioned in the movies.
Phenomenal Star Wars resource January 1, 2009 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a big Star Wars fan; i'm only at the letter F right now (looking at the pictures and some of the interesting entries) and i already found out so many cool things i didn't know about. There was obviously a great amount of work that went into this. Illustrations are everywhere, and there are also maps, timelines and more... Btw, i found the quality of the print exceptional. No doubt, if i had to choose i'd definitely buy it again.
Epic laziness December 14, 2008 13 out of 36 found this review helpful
The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia isn't bad if you recognize it for what it is: a severely distilled digest of SW information. When it comes down to it, that's all most fans want or need. The real problem with it is the total lack of original illustrations. The first SW Encyclopedia had a wealth of pictures that came from sources that casual fans didn't have access to in 1998 in the early days of Internet fandom. Animation cels and publicity and reference photos weren't available just anywhere.
These days, however, Star Wars media saturates the Internet. The place this Encyclopedia could have really shined is providing images that still aren't available to the public, from the depths of the Lucasfilm archives. Unfortunately, it seems that Lucasfilm doesn't HAVE any such archives -- they actually copied over fifty pictures from the unofficial fan encyclopedia, Wookieepedia. Apparently, nobody at Lucasfilm has a PC and the ability to take screenshots from video games, because every picture of a subject from Empire at War, Star Wars Galaxies, or the Knights of the Old Republic games is either from an ancient publisher's press release, or stolen from Wookieepedia.
Shame on you, Lucasfilm Limited. This is laziness on a truly epic scale.
Minimalism Run Rampant December 12, 2008 22 out of 70 found this review helpful
I was very excited to receive the new Star Wars Encyclopedia, but after reading through its many articles I am very sorry I bought it. I hope everyone goes out and uses Wookieepedia online as the ultimate Star Wars reference instead of this lousy encyclopedia. I was hoping for some new information to be reveled or very detailed articles of known information, but I have not seen much in the many entries I have read thus far. However, the biggest problem I have is the heavy amount of minimalism that the authors clearly went out of there way to spew across these volumes.
I really hope someone out there at Lucas reads this, but it really baffles me how they do business. Now when it comes to the numbers and scope of the Star Wars Universe either fans will not care or there will be people like me, who are hard core fans. All we want are somewhat reasonable and common sense numbers to be assigned to the various stats behind the Star Wars Universe. Now why not make everyone happy by admitting you were wrong and changing your numbers, instead of intentional going out of your way to anger you're most loyal fans? It doesn't make any sense.
You continue to portray a Galactic Army consisting of only a super pathetic 3 million troops, you say the City Planet of Coruscant is basically deserted at a population of a mere trillion and unfortunately there so many more terrible numbers. I mean it took you guys many years to admit you were wrong in the length of a Star Dreadnought Executor and the diameter of the second Death Star, so I am not hopeful these numbers will ever be corrected. This is truly a "Travesty", pun intended. I don't want Star Wars to be as technical or realistic as Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek, but I mean think about the numbers you assign to things for more than one second before putting them down on paper. So please get rid of these ludicrous numbers and portray of the Star Wars Universe as it should be and while you are it could you also stop with all of the modern day metaphors. I want to get away from the real world when I read about Star Wars and I don't to read stories that mirror the Iraq War or go on and on whining about democracy.
In closing give us the things that make Star Wars so great: Big Ships, Big Navies, Big Armies, Galactic Scale Wars, Huge Battles, Planet Killers, Civilizations 100,000's of years ahead of our current levels of technology, Kings, Queens, Aristocrats, and Religious themes!!!!!

Vader JH, meet Jolee Bindo So it's a bsic B&B concept at 200, but added Jolee for his ability to not help the troops, but help Vader, who barely needs help as is, but is even more of a tank with a small bonus to his attack and defense score. And this leaves me an extra point, but I'm happy with it. Any thoughts, I haven't...

Czerka/Poison Blade Does the Czerka SA that grants twin not work when Poison Blade goes into effect?
Is This a Good Idea? In my area, not too many people play. there are some people intrested, but they don't have many pieces so they can't justify paying the 6$ entry fee to play every week. i plan on making some pre-constructed squads for them that they can purchase from me. i'd be selling off most of the stuff i don't...
Why do we need sooo many Vaders? I love the game and I think Wizards has done a fine job with the figures. Why do they keep remaking the same characters over and over? How many Vaders do we need? or Luke, Lando and Han? What about Ben Skywalker, Jaina Sword to the Jedi, Zekk, or Jagged Fel dark jedi hunter? There are soooooo many...
hey, any pro converters, can you make this guy? i think he's from Episode 5 as i recall seeing him in the background of the anakin/padme romance scenes on the beach in Naboo. those crazy backwoods nabooite free-wheelin' hippies!

My son is going to be a great Jedi Knight A few months ago, I posted the picture of my 1 1/2 year-old son hugging a lightsaber at Target. So last night I was playing my brother in a game (see thread "Time for an Intervention") and my son came walking up and wanted to sit on my lap. He doesn't really talk yet, but I could see the glimmer...
Time for an Intervention So, for the longest time, my brother has put together the some pretty bad squads. He usually rejects my advice (but not all) by saying that he has a different "playing style". (Sounds like denial to me ;) )
Anyhow, I've never given him a hard time about it because we play for fun. However, last...
Font issues Does anyone know the font for the new style of cards.... it looks like they are still using Agency FB for the body text but the header font is new...any thoughts?

Could Darth Vader, SotJ use Lightsaber Throw 2?
I tried finding a list to help me out, but was unable to find anything. Please help. Thanks a lot.
Cade Skywalker? Amazingly Broken! Well, when he first came out, and people used him with Doombot, he was a pain, but an expensive pain, and not a big threat. I'm sure in bigger games, he isn't a major factor. However, with his long removed female ancestor, Padme Amidala, Senator, he has a place to be one of the most broken pieces...
